Nataly Korsakov of Fleur de Lapin, physically lives in Berlin, Germany, but mentally lives in a magical world where cats become dolls who wear fancy clothes. Her fantastical hand-made dolls cover the spectrum of themes from storybook princes and fairies to fictional characters like Little Red Riding Hood and Comic Con themes like Lolita and Steampunk. These wondrous kitties with their huge you-can't-resist-me-eyes, and lavish outfits, will have you purring. The dolls come in a beautiful doll box with a signed certificate of authenticity for a keepsake that will be passed down through generations. Let's find out a little more about Nataly.

How do animals inspire your artwork?
I love and respect animals a lot! I think I may be a cat person :) I have always had cats and my art is also spinning around cats - they are my biggest inspiration! So many different patterns, eye colors (cat's eyes are amazing and very unique), fur and body structures (short legged, long legged, big and tiny, slim and fluffy), every cat comes with his own one of a kind personality and that is what I love most about cats! When I create a kitty doll I try to add facial expression, a smile, curious look, to bring that character to life.
What medium do you work in?
I have done it all: drawings, paintings, sculpture, sewing, making hats, jewelry etc., but what is wonderful about making my dolls is that i can combine all my skills and enjoy every step of doll making process.
Now it looks like this : idea - sketch-character design in details - sculpture -painting-assembling doll- sewing costume-accessories- photoshoot-packaging.

Do you own or have you owned any pets and if so, tell us about them?
I have had three cats since i was 10 yo, every one of them was my friend and even though they are passed away they are still and always will be in my heart.
Now my husband and I have a 6 year old male cat named Kot (wich means actually "cat" in Russian) and he is sweetest cat I ever known! He is a very social cat that needs people around, he loves to cuddle and sleep with us, he is very polite and never meows to wake us up if he is hungry, instead he will patiently wait. There is so much awesomeness about our cat I could probably write a book :) And he is my purry inspiration!
How long have you been creating art?
I came from very artistic family and my father started to teach me how to draw in a very young age. I have no art education but I have always been creative and crafted a lot through all my life.
I always find my own way to create things, but I do a lot of research before I start a new project, and always search ways to improve my art.

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
I would like to be a cat, they are beautiful, cute and cuddly, but also strong and very independent creatures.

So cute, and such wonderful detail! Animals are definitely one of my greatest sources of inspiration when it comes to my art and creativity. Feel blessed to share our lives with three amazing canine kids, and to be surrounded by other people’s pets and the surrounding wildlife.
