Tara Galuska is a paper artist whose beautiful butterflies and birds caught our attention on Instagram (instagram.com/taragaluska). Her Instagram images are playful, nature inspired and give an amazing glimpse into her rose-colored world. This week, she graciously agreed to share with us how animals inspire her creations.

How do animals inspire your artwork?

We share our planet with some amazing creatures and I can’t help but want to create my own paper versions of them! At the moment I am obsessed with butterflies and moths. They are just so beautiful and amazing aren’t they?

What medium do you work in (watercolor, acrylic, digital, pottery, photography etc.)?

I use paper to create my art and illustration work. I like to say that I create poetry with paper!

How long have you been creating art?

I’ve been creating art as well as crafting since a young age. After years of exploring different mediums and styles I’ve fully immersed myself in the world of paper art within the last year.

Do you own or have you owned any pets and if so, tell us about them?

My husband and I have two lovely feline family members called Daisy and Bijou! They have the sweetest friendliest personalities and add such joy to my life. When they aren’t sleeping they love sitting in boxes, getting pats and staring out the window.

What is your favorite piece of artwork you’ve created and why?

I don’t have a favorite. I may be more pleased with the outcome of different artworks than others but they are all important in my journey as an artist.
