I wrote this poem some time in the 90's about my cat Zazzel
who was my very best friend and got me through many a tough time.
She was the sweetest cat ever, but definitely had a wild side.
Here's to you Zazzel!
The Cat in the House
The cat in the house
sittin’ in the window,
watchin’ the world go by.
Sprawling in the sun,
meowing at the neighbors,
lettin’ out a big ol’ cry!
It doesn’t matter what she wants,
she always gets her way.
Cause she’s the cat in the house,
Miss Kitty’s here to stay!
And when she wants attention,
she’s lookin’ for affection,
she’s sure to come my way.
With a purr and a putter
and a meow and a meow,
She flips her tail and struts away!
‘Cause she’s the cat in the house,
This Kitty’s here to stay!
